Allisons Catfish Farm Friendsville, Tennessee

As you walk in the rustic small farmhouse, the first sign you see says "Allisons is open only eight hours a week. Please do not share Adult dinners". Allisons Catfish located in Friendsville, TN between Lenoir City and Maryville has been serving fresh fried catfish for many years now. Unless you want to wait a good while I suggest getting there at 4:30pm the doors open at five. Allisons is only open 5pm to 9pm Friday and Saturday nights. Believe me there is a line to get in this place the whole time.
Allisons is known for two things: great catfish and homemade desserts. This place is so busy they don't have to be open all week. Allisons also closes in the fall and reopens every year in May. This is a great place with a serene atmosphere. After a jumbo catfish dinner and a piece of Coconut Cream pie (homemade) enjoy a nice walk through the farm lined with ponds/ waterwheels and waterfalls. There is even a nineteenth century one room house located on the farm.
The fried catfish is cooked in 100% peanut oil. You can order a small / regular or jumbo dinner. All dinners are served with homefries or baked potato and coleslaw. They also have fried chicken tenders as meals, combos or kid meals. You got to save room for the homemade pies or peach cobbler. Here is a short list of their desserts made fresh each day
  1. Coconut Cream Pie
  2. Chocolate Cream Pie
  3. Peach Cobbler
  4. Pecan Pie
  5. Brownie Bar Cake
Allisons is a great and unique Taste of Tennessee. It is a must eat and see if you are visiting East Tennessee or live nearby.
